Read the article entitled, “Are the Rich Getting Richer?” in chapter 4 of your textbook. This article examines class standing in society, and also examines a question that is often posed by many: Are the rich getting richer?
As a response to the article, create a brief PowerPoint presentation that includes the following components:
- Present important statistics based on measuring economic inequality discussed in the article.
- Explain what these statistics are: Gini index, Quintile analysis, and Pareto Criterion.
- Describe clearly, given the statistical knowledge you have gained up to this point in the class, if there is support of the thesis of the article.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Length: 4-5 slides (with a separate cover and reference slide)
Notes length: 50-100 words for each slide
