Internet Exploration:  Post link and write a brief summary (1-2 sentences) of the content of the site.  Search for LAW OF SINES, LAW OF COSINES, HERONS FORMULA, POLAR COORDINATES, CARDIOIDS, POLAR GRAPHS  … or other topics for these chapters.

Respond (Sections 4.1):  Make two sketches (scan and post) that illustrate your understanding of heading and bearing.  There are two ways to express location: one pole called “heading” and two poles called “bearing.” In both cases there must be a reference point that is considered fixed for the moment. See the example attached.  Here are some suggestions.

(a) Ship traveling north parallel to shore sights a lighthouse at 300 degrees and a sailboat at 75 degrees.

(b) Ship traveling north parallel to shore sights a house at 200 degrees and a lifebuoy at 25 degrees.

(c) Ship traveling north parallel to shore sights a hotel at 330 degrees and a surfer at 90 degrees.
