Question
which tools would you utilize in order to obtain your results.?
Selecting the correct sample is imperative for any research. The intended population is also key in determining whether the research questions will be adequately answered or
not. While considering all those factors, I will choose a diverse population when carrying out my research. Using search a researchable population will ensure that I get an appropriate
sample size. Further choosing a researchable population protects time allocated for project while ensuring that I work within my budget. Although there is no ideal research population,
selecting the best samples will offer feasibility and convenience to my project. Depending on the nature of my research questions, I will narrow down to a subset population (Alligood, 2014).
My project will reflect nursing specialties and this makes it important to select the best sample. Although the selected population comes with numerous benefits, it also poses challenges. A diverse population brings the challenge of sampling. Since the whole population represents individuals with distinct characteristics, it is difficult to select the best fitted sample. Research cannot be carried out on the whole population. Further, using such a population in research is expensive and difficult. Differences in different components within the population makes it hard to have a subset of the population with common characteristics. As such, the results may be altered or false. I will deal with the challenges by applying essential IX: Master’s-level nursing practice (American Association of College of Nursing, 2011). By incorporating theories and knowledge acquired, I will ensure that the sampling method used during research capturers the required characteristic in my sample.
